PRIZES FOR STUDENT ESSAYS & THESES
Michelle Zimbalist Rosaldo and Francisco Lopes Competitions
Essays and Theses Due: May 2, 2012. 4pm.
The Michelle Zimbalist Rosaldo and Francisco Lopes Prizes are awarded annually by the Program in Feminist Studies for the best essays and MA or Honors theses on women (or a woman), feminism, gender or sexuality, written by any undergraduate, or co-terminal B.A./M.A. student currently enrolled at Stanford. Each prize carries a cash award of $250. The prizes are given in two divisions: The Honors Thesis Division (including coterminal Master’s theses) and the Essay Division. The Rosaldo Prizes are awarded to one thesis and one essay in the social sciences. The Lopes Prizes are awarded to one thesis and one essay in the humanities. The prizes are conferred by the Program in Feminist Studies at our annual banquet.
Three BOUND (plastic cover or thin binder) hardcopies of your submission, are due in the office of the Program in Feminist Studies by 4:00pm on due date. Each copy of your submitted essays/thesis must be accompanied by an entry form. One pdf copy of the submission & the form must also be email to Zamora, zamoram@stanford.edu.
No more than one essay and one thesis may be submitted by each student in each of the Rosaldo and Lopes contests. All submissions must follow these specifications: 12pt font, numbered pages, two-sided pages recommended. Submissions should not include any identifying information except for a full title on page one and a shortened title on all other pages.

Diane Middlebrook Graduate Teaching Prize
Nominations accepted throughout the year for courses taught Spr '11, Fall '11 & Winter 2012. Deadline: May 7, 2012. 4pm.
The Program in Feminist Studies announces a $500 graduate teaching prize in honor of Diane Middlebrook. The prize will be awarded in Spring 2012 to a graduate instructor or teaching assistant in courses focusing on women, feminism, gender and/or sexuality offered in Spring 2011, Fall 2011 or Winter 2012. Nominations may come from students, faculty, or graduate instructors; graduate students are encouraged to self-nominate. The nominating party should submit a cover letter including the name of the course, the nominee’s role, and a statement about why the nominee deserves the prize. A complete nomination should also include a syllabus, teaching evaluations, and letters of support from at least two students. Send all materials in ONE pdf attachment to Zamora, Program Coordinator (zamoram@stanford.edu).

Seeking Teaching Assistants for FEMST 101 Intro to Feminist Studies
Deadline: May, 2012. 4pm
The program in Feminist Studies seeks Stanford graduate students with strong backgrounds in interdisciplinary feminist studies to serve as a teaching assistant in FS101, "Introduction to Feminist Studies," Autumn Quarter 2012-13. Applicants should have attained TGR status by the beginning of Autumn quarter.

Teaching Opportunities in Feminist Studies for Doctoral Students
Deadline: Not offered in 2012-2013
The Program in Feminist Studies seeks Stanford graduate students with strong backgrounds in interdisciplinary feminist studies to teach a course on gender, women, feminism, or feminist theory. Preference will be given to students with TGR status.
We are especially interested in courses that do not duplicate our core curriculum and that address issues of race, class and ethnicity; gender, technology and science; sexuality; masculinity; cross-cultural issues; children and families; queer studies. We have a particular need for courses on feminist and queer theory. Positions will be Teaching Affiliates in Feminist Studies. Up to two course proposals may be selected.
