Drama Department and Prosser Studio Entrance |
The Drama Department, Memorial Auditorium, the Pigott Theater, and the Eleanor Prosser Studio are located in Memorial Hall (see map below, marked in red). Productions also take place in Roble Studio Theater.

Memorial Auditorium is Stanford's largest performance facility, seating just under 2000. The entrance to the theater faces Hoover Tower and the fountain. Pigott Theater is the Department's usual venue, with a proscenium stage and approximately 200 seats. The entrance is up a short flight of stairs facing the Graduate School of Business. Prosser Studio is a black box theater seating a maximum of 70, and it is the usual location of workshop productions and student projects. The studio is located upstairs in Memorial Hall, accessible through the back doors of the department, opposite Memorial Way. (Note: If you're looking for KZSU, Stanford's radio station, located in the basement of Memorial Auditorium, the entrance is outside, just next to the entrance to the Pigott, facing the Graduate School of Business.)

Directions to Memorial Hall
From 101 (north or south):
- Exit at Embarcadero/Oregon Expwy.
- Take the ramp towards Embarcadero West, towards Stanford University.
- Stay on Embarcadero across El Camino Real.
- Once you cross El Camino, you are now on campus and Embarcadero turns into Galvez (stay in the left lane).
- Stay on Galvez as you cross Campus Drive (there's a stop sign).
- The stop sign after Campus Drive is Memorial Way; you may turn right to park, or continue to the driveway on the right side and park in the lot. Additional parking may be found on the street or on Galvez in the Track House lot, back across Campus Drive.
From 280 Northbound:
- Exit at Page Mill.
- Turn right off the ramp onto Page Mill.
- Turn left at the stoplight, onto Junipero Serra/Foothill Expwy.
- Turn right at Stanford Avenue, the very next turn.
- After two stoplights, turn left onto Bowdoin, a stop sign.
- Turn right onto Campus Drive.
- Turn left onto Serra.
- At the dead end with the bollards, turn right on Galvez; Memorial Hall's parking lot will be directly on your left. Additional parking may be found on the street or on Galvez, just across Campus Drive, in the Track House lot.
From 280 Southbound:
- Exit at Sand Hill Road; on the ramp, go towards Sand Hill EAST, towards Stanford.
- After a few stoplights, turn right onto Santa Cruz Avenue (it's the street after Sharon Park Drive).
- Turn left at the FIRST LIGHT, onto Junipero Serra Blvd.
- Turn left at the FIRST light after that, onto Campus Drive West.
- Follow Campus Drive around, past the Medical Center buildings.
- Turn right on Galvez (the intersection after Palm Drive).
- The next stop sign you come to will be Memorial Way; you may turn right and park, or continue to the driveway on the right side and park in the lot. Additional parking may be found on the street or on Galvez in the Track House lot, back across Campus Drive.
Parking for Memorial Hall is available along Memorial Way and in the Memorial lot adjacent to the building (lots marked in yellow). All parking (except where noted) is free after 4pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. For weekday visits to the department, there is metered/pay parking in the Memorial Lot (yellow), as well as the Oval, the Track House, and the Encina lots (marked in orange).

Roble Studio Theater, Roble Gym
Roble Studio Theater and the Roble Dance Studio, home of the Drama Department's Dance Division, are on Santa Teresa Street on the east side of campus. They are both located inside the Roble Gym building (see map below, marked in red).

The Dance Studio features a large, gymnasium-sized sprung floor and is the site of many department dance classes as well as performances and social dances. The Studio Theater is an intimate setting with a thrust stage and seating for up to 200 people. There are also a variety of rehearsal spaces available for Stanford student groups.

After following Campus Drive around past part of the medical center, turn left onto Via Ortega (there's an intersection with a stop sign).

Towards the end of the street are two large parking lots and a parking structure. The back of Roble Gym is visible, across Panama Street from the power station, so you can just walk around to the front.
From 280 Northbound:
- Turn right off the ramp onto Page Mill.
- Turn left at the stoplight, onto Junipero Serra/Foothill Expwy.
- Turn right at Stanford Avenue, the very next turn.
- After a stoplight, turn left onto Bowdoin, a stop sign.
- Turn left onto Campus Drive.
- Turn right at Mayfield, and follow Mayfield left at the dead end with the bollards.
- At the T intersection ending Mayfield, turn right onto Lomita.
- At the stop sign ending Lomita, turn left onto Santa Teresa.
- Turn right at the next stop sign onto Samuel Morris Way and follow it left at the dead end. (You're driving past Roble Gym.)
- Park in the parking lots to your left or right, or park in the structure, and walk back around to the front of Roble.
From 280 Southbound:
- Exit at Sand Hill Road; on the ramp, go towards Sand Hill EAST, towards Stanford.
- After a few stoplights, turn right onto Santa Cruz Avenue.
- Turn left immediately at the light onto Junipero Serra Blvd (the sign is hard to see).
- Turn left at the light onto Campus Drive West.
- Turn right at the stop sign onto Santa Teresa.
- Turn left at a stop sign onto Samuel Morris Way (you just drove past Roble Gym). Follow Panama left at the dead end with the bollards.
- Park in the structure or the lots to your left or right, and walk back around to the front of Roble.
Parking lots are available behind Roble on Panama Street and Via Ortega, as well as in the parking structure (lots marked in yellow on map above). Parking is free after 4pm weekdays and all day on weekends.
