Light Reception to Follow
"Feeling Differently" is the first event in a new bi-quarterly lecture series, P.S., aimed at creating space for TAPS students to share work and to engage or grapple with some of the pressing questions, emerging trends in performance studies and beyond. For this roundtable, we've asked each participant to respond to the prompt: how has the notion of "feeling differently" shaped, informed and/or materialized in aspects of your work as artists/activists/academics? It promises to be a rich discussion. A light reception will follow.
"Feeling Differently" Roundtable Participants Include:
- Carlos Motta
International multidisciplinary artist, We Who Feel Differently - Sianne Ngai
Professor of English at Stanford, author of Ugly Feelings (Harvard UP, 2005) and Our Aesthetic Categories: Zany, Cute, Interesting (Harvard UP, 2012) - Raegan Truax
Artist-scholar and TAPS graduate student (http://www.raegantruax.com) - Nomy Lamm
Singer-songwriter and political activist (http://www.nomylamm.com)
