• It was a truly wonderful week, full of diversity of technique, styles, approaches to learning. So many wonderful choices.
• I feel that what Director Powers and staff have in Stanford Tango Week is greater than even they realize. Aside from a purely learning situation, it enables us to embrace some of the culture and beauty of another nation, to internalize and make it a part of ourselves.
• More Tango Weeks! You get better every year. I've watched the level of tango grow steadily over the last four years. The evening dances are even more thrilling!

on Juan Bruno (Stanford Tango Weeks 1995, 1996)

• The man's a living inspiration, an artist, poet, philosopher, a great teacher, and at 70 years of age, still such an exciting dancer that he can bring an audience to its feet.
• Juan Bruno was everything I could ask for in a teacher. He gave us styling, steps, feeling, love and regard for Tango, and he gave himself. He taught clearly and constructively. I would like very much to study with him again.
• Outstanding! This is a great man. I felt very fortunate to have been able to study and see a tanguero with such a rich history and openness to changes in the tango. Truly communicated with his students.
