What distinguishes archaeological research in high mountain environments with year-round cold temperatures from other archaeological contexts and fieldwork? Comparison with other global field methodologies. Emphasis is on Gallo-Roman, Celtic, and medieval finds. Required for students participating in Stanford's late summer dig in the Grand-St-Bernard pass in the Alps.
