Christelle received her License es Lettres (BA) at the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland (2001) and her MA in Classics from Stanford University. She is a Geballe Dissertation Fellow for the year 2007-2008 at the Stanford Humanities Center. She also worked as a research assistant at the Fonds National Suisse, participating in the making of the online catalogue of the Geneva papyri. Her interests are in Hellenistic history, papyrology and epigraphy. Her dissertation “Army and Society in Ptolemaic Egypt” aims to explore the organization of the army, its role in society as a vehicle for land distribution, as a provider of group solidarity and social network, and finally as a place of interactions between Greek and Egyptian cultures.
