A professor at the University of Rome, SAPIENZA, Alessandro Schiesaro has taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Princeton University, and since 1995-1999 he served as the chair of the Department of Classics at King's College. He is the author of numerous books, essays and other publications on Greek, Latin, and Italian literature and cultural history. This year he will be teaching two courses at Stanford, Intermediate Latin: Horace (undergraduate; spring quarter) and Metamorphoses of Dido (graduate; spring quarter).
