Ph.D. candidate, Language and Literature
Scott Weiss received his BA with High Honors in Latin and Greek from Swarthmore College in 2011 and his MA in Classics from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2013. As an undergraduate, he studied at the Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies in Rome. At the Graduate Center, he completed his master's thesis, entitled Self-fashioning among Roman Freedmen: A Comparative Study of Petronius' Satyrica and Inscriptions from Puteoli. His interests include Roman cultural history, Latin literature, the Second Sophistic, epigraphy and numismatics.
