Mark Pyzyk

Mark is a Ph.D. student on the Ancient History track. He received his BA and MA in Classics at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario in 2006 and 2008, respectively, and in 2008, he completed a Master's thesis entitled "Burial, Landscape and Hero Cult in the Polis”. He is interested broadly in Iron Age and Archaic Greek history, and more specifically in the role of hero cult in helping construct citizen identity in the Greek polis.
