Honora Chapman recieved her B.A. and Ph.D in Classics from Stanford in 1998. In 2002, she joined the California State, Fresno faculty as the coordinator of Classics. In 2006, she received a Provost's Award for Promising New Faculty. Honora is an expert on Josephus, the first-century Roman priest and general, who moved to Rome after the Jewish War and wrote the history of his people. Dr. Chapman was co-chair of the Josephus Seminar/Group of the Society of Biblical Literature from 2000-2008, and co-authored, "Flavius Josephus: Translation and Commentary" (a multi-volume collection of all of Josephus' works). In 2006, she assisted in organizing the Fresno State College of Arts and Humanities Honors Program, also teaching its first cohort.
