Intermediate Greek: Homer's Odyssey

We will read the Phaeacian episodes of Homer's Odyssey, books VI-VIII. During our readings we will discuss and debate the magical realism within these books. There will be a strong emphasis on learning Homeric Greek's grammar, meter, vocabulary, and syntax. Assessment will include participation, presentations, quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Classics majors and minors must take course for letter grade.
