To what degree should we think of prostitution as a cross-cultural, cross-era story -- and if we are to have a serious history of the sale of sexual services, how should it be comprehended, expressed and engaged with?
Simon Goldhill is Professor of Greek at Cambridge University where he is director of CRASSH, the University's Institute of Advanced Study, fellow of King's College, and Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He has published on many aspects of ancient Greek literature and on Victorian culture, and has lectured across the world.
