116th Annual Commencement

The Chemistry Department conferred 21 Bachelor Degrees, two Master Degrees, and 23 Doctoral Degrees on Sunday, June 17th, 2007, in a ceremony held in the Braun Auditorium.

The prestigious Marsden Memorial Prize in Chemistry went to Naomi Rajapaksa for her outstanding academic and research record. She will attend graduate school at Harvard in this fall. Sheng Zhi Chia received the Merck Index Award for his stellar academic record. Marion Martin received the Annual Reviews Prize in Physical Chemistry for outstanding graduate work for which he conducted under the research direction of Professor Richard Zare.
