Boxer Group in the News

Chemical and Engineering News recently highlighted results from a collaboration between graduate student Jessica Chuang, Professor Steven Boxer and coworkers Dr. Chris Kirmaier and Professor Dewey Holten from the Washington University Chemistry Department.

Published in March in Biochemistry, their work presents a rational approach to engineering electron transfer in the bacterial photosynthetic reaction center protein, with implications for understanding electron transfer processes in biology, for alternative energy applications, and as an example of nanoscale engineering relevant to molecular electronics.
