SUNet ID searches are faster and more accurate than name searches.
  • name
    • last name - Doe
    • first and last names - Jane Doe
(you must enter at least 3 characters of the last name)
FIND an organization

Find and view all the authority assignments scoped to a selected organization. You can access this feature from the Home page of Authority Manager, or from an Organization View page. You can search by:

  • organization name - Mechanical Engineering
  • organization code (aka administrative ID) - SRGC
  • academic ID - MECHENGR

Click "Browse the Organization Hierarchy" to see the entire Stanford hierarchy showing organization names and codes in the context of their parent and child organizations. Inactive organizations are not shown in the hierarchy, but you can find inactive orgs by using the search feature.

The (i) info icon appears throughout Authority Manager wherever there is more information available about an object. If you click it, a small popup window will appear, listing the person's contact info, the tasks included in a privilege, the status of prerequisites, or whatever other information is relevant to the object the info button is next to.

The blue info icon - also called the wholet (hoo'-lit) - appears in front of a person's name wherever it might be useful to view basic contact information. If you click the blue (i), a small popup window will appear showing a business-card view of the person's contact information. This can help you identify an unfamiliar name, as well as to contact the identified person. The wholet follows the privacy rules set in Stanford.You. You will be able to see any information the person has made Stanford-visible.

The red info icon indicates either a status check (such as the prerequisites popup) or important information.
