Browser Recommendations for
Administrative Applications
Internet Explorer 8:
Microsoft released Internet Explorer 8 for the Windows environment in April 2009. Because most of Stanford's administrative systems are not yet certified to work with IE8, it is strongly recommended that users refrain from upgrading at this time. Applications are currently being tested to determine which are compatible with IE8. This page will be updated as more information becomes available.
If you have already upgraded to IE8 and are experiencing problems, you can uninstall and revert to your previous version. See Instructions here.
If you are running Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) and encounter problems with any administrative application, it is recommended that you revert to IE 6. Click here for instructions.
Stanford recommends changing a couple of settings to your browser if you are
using Internet Explorer. See the instructions for IE 6

1. Until final certification of Safari, Firefox will be used with
the PCard and iOUapplications.
2. The browser must access the application via Connect.
