Emmanuel Dayan

After graduating in Philosophy from the University of Paris, Emmanuel moved to Denmark to study at the European Film College, where he directed two short fiction films, and edited many others. He then returned to Paris where he worked as an editor, making of director, and a bakery clerk. Emmanuel loves to play music and to cook, and has an unexplained fascination for hospitals and the medical world. He is currently making a film about nurses.

In a neo-natal intensive care unit, a chaplain, a mother, a doctor and a psychologist spend their days and nights around babies whose lives are never taken for granted. Human contact often gives in to medical imperatives, and death is never far. The film looks at the ways these people deal with the omnipresence of technology and a reality which is often out of their control.
