Architectural Design @ Stanford

There are three very special courses coming this spring. One is our CEE 137B Intermediate Studio (required for the major) which will be taught by a team of engineers and architects from Skidmore Owings and Merrill, SF.

Three others count as electives.

If you want to put your computer modeling skills in high gear take advantage of our new CEE 135A Parametrics course which will not only introduce you to the software used by Gehry Technologies, but also features use of the PRL Product Realization Lab with its rapid prototyping and laser cutting technologies!!!

If you want to learn more about professional job opportunities in a wide variety of disciplines related to the built environment check out CEE 131A Introduction to the Design Professions which will host a wide variety of outside speakers- meets once a week- a two unit course.

And our portfolio course CEE 139 finds a new course time Tues. 5:15-6:15 and will now be 2 units. John Barton is teaching this,and we anticipate extra outside architects will be coming in to overview and make suggestions with regard to your portfolios.

I recently was able to take a tour of the new E & E Building, where the Architectural Design Program will be located next quarter. It is nearing completion and the new studio and Arch. Design corner are looking really good. Check out the photos here.
