Spring Architectural Speaker Series

Art History Department Presents Lecture by Joshua Prince-Ramus

Joshua Prince-Ramus was the partner-in-charge of the celebrated Seattle Central Library, when he was the head of the New York outpost of the (OMA) Office for Metropolitan Architecture. Demountability means further development of construction technique, generation of life cycles, no down cycling of construction material, optimization of construction and demounting activities, reuse of structural elements, and finally relief of the environment due to saving of resourses. There are special requirements which should be fulfilled in order to make a concrete structure demountable. The systems which exist in the Netherlands will be presented and discussed.
