I am interested in human responses to climate change, especially those that use markets and other ‘capitalist’ techniques. In particular, I study the construction and social manifestations of carbon markets in Brazil, where I look at efforts to reduce deforestation and forest degradation (REDD) as part of climate change mitigation.
