eLearning, Interactive Design, Product Design, Educational Toys
After receiving my undergraduate degree in computer information systems from Indiana University, I moved to Chicago to work as a technology and management consultant at Deloitte Consulting and Inforte. I often found myself on both sides of our projects, in that I would be assigned to a strategic consulting project, but I would end up just as involved in the web redesign work. I then went on to explore my interest in education as a volunteer English teacher in Brazil for a year, and following that with research for an educational advocacy firm back in Chicago called Designs for Change.
Learning Goals
My learning goals were to gain a better understanding of how creative technologies can be applied to support learning, as well as to gain a deeper understanding of how design influences the online experience.

Internship
My primary internship was with IDEO’s Zero20 team, formerly their toy design group. As the firm was reorganizing around customer verticals, my research focused on the ‘tween market and went beyond just toys. It was rather unstructured, which allowed me to set the direction for my research. The team has since then been able to integrate my work into client proposals.
Master’s Project
Back Seat Driver: an interactive, portable toy designed to promote geographic and cultural literacy for 8-12 year olds, with players virtually exploring the world and meeting other kids.
Back Seat Driver
Currently working as a web producer for Adobe. In this role, I manage projects for their public website, most recently working on the Flash 10-year anniversary campaign. Since LDT, I have also worked as an associate producer for Leapfrog toy company, as well as a senior project manager at ASK Learning, a custom e-learning firm.
