Current CourseWork Issues:
»Directly clicking on links to Microsoft Office and PDF documents does not work in Assignments.  Right click and choose "Open" or "Save."
»The Language Lab recommends Internet Explorer (not Firefox) for CourseWork.   [Why? Audio response files do not play back properly in the Quicktime plugin in Firefox.]

Our mission is to provide resources, facilities, and support for language instruction and learning to the entire Stanford community. Resources range from materials in over 90 languages, to specialized learning and teaching equipment and facilities, to materials development, support and consulting services for faculty and TAs.

The Digital Language Lab is the multilingual computing hub at Stanford, offering voice recording capability and web browsing and word processing tools for a variety of foreign character sets.

Large scale online assessment takes place in the Language Lab through CourseWork, including 600 Simulated Oral Proficiency Interviews (SOPIs) every Spring Quarter.

Organizationally, the Language Lab is part of Academic Computing, a division of SUL/AIR (Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources). We are housed in Meyer Library.
