Development

The Language Lab offers consulting services for instructors who would like to incorporate new ideas into their teaching. Consultants can assist in conceptualizing ideas, buying or developing necessary materials, and delivering them to students.

The Language Lab can customize existing instructional technologies to fit the teaching needs of individual language instructors. These technologies include various software programs that enable instructors to design computer exercises that include text, graphics, audio, and/or video. Excercises can be designed for Web-based delivery. For a consultation, instructors can contact Academic Computing at 724-5600 for help in integrating technology into language instruction. Their expertise in foreign language pedagogy and language instruction technology can be used to assist you in selecting among the many available technologies, and they can show you examples of how these technologies have been used at Stanford and elsewhere.
