Biography
In 1986 started Communications Research, an independent consulting service. Clients include U.S. wireless systems suppliers and telecommunications service providers, the World Bank, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and foreign governments. Previous affiliations include the Harris Corporation, Fairchild R&D Laboratory, W.W. Hansen Laboratories of Physics at Stanford University, as well as Iskra R&D in Slovenia, the R&D laboratories of the Yugoslav PTT and Broadcasting organizations, and the EE Department Split of the University of Zagreb. Positions included Research Associate, Section and Department Head, Scientific Counsellor, Director of Product Development, and Associate Professor.
Since 1996 teaching course MS&E 237 “Progress in Worldwide Telecommunications” at Stanford University.
Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Past President of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT). Served as IEEE-MTT National Lecturer and as Distinguished Lecturer in the U.S., Canada, Europe, China, Japan and Australia. Representing IEEE-MTT on the IEEE-USA Committee on Communications and Information Policy (CCIP). Recipient of the IEEE Third Millennium Medal.
Dipl. Ing. and Dr. techn. degrees from the Technical University of Vienna, Austria.
