My general area of scholarly interest is Science, Technology, and Society, a field devoted to the study of social, cultural, and ethical issues raised by developments in science and technology in contemporary societies.
My specific research area is ethics, science, and technology. Currently my research is focused on ethics and nanotechnology. I am conducting a multi-year study of the views of practitioners of nanotechnology at thirteen U.S. universities about ethical issues in their professional work, as well as about ethical issues likely to be raised by applications of nanotechnology in society at large.
