The Center is located in Minato Mirai 21 on the site of the1989 Yokohama municipal exposition. Its location in Yokohama provides rich opportunities for academic and community involvement by allowing students to audit courses at the ten universities in the city and to interact with local business, civic, and cultural oranizations. Yokohama also has a number of libraries and museums devoted to the history of the opening of Japan.

Kamakura, the nation's capital in the 13th century, the Shonan beaches, the Miura peninsula, the Hakone-Izu National Park, and the Tanzawa mountain ranges are within easy travelling distance. The Center's proximity to Sakuragi-cho Station allows for ready access to Tokyo.
