The Parents' Club of Stanford University proudly presents a selection of student performing groups in the annual Entertainment Extravaganza! Five very talented and unique student ensembles will be showcased:
Fleet Street is an all-male A Capella group specializing in original songs and arrangements.
HD Crew officially formed Fall Quarter of 2012 in order to create an all male hip-hop dynamic at Stanford. The group consists of seven male dancers ranging as far back as the Stanford 2008 dance scene to
the present. This crew strives to take their dancing to high defined levels of cleanliness and style. Whether they are ticking like robots, grooving to a chill beat, or getting buck to a hard track, HD puts it all on the stage. With only one practice a week, HD Crew hopes to rip it for their first year in the Stanford dance scene and beyond. Now what does "HD" stand for you may ask? High Daring? High
Definition? Hella Dope? That's up to you to decide.
The Late Quartet is a string quartet, formed this year, consisting of principals of the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and the Stanford Philharmonia Orchestra. They will perform the 7th movement, Allegro, from Beethoven's String Quartet No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Opus 131 (1826).
The Stanford Bhangra Team practices and performs bhangra, a traditional Punjabi folk dance originating from the Punjab region in Northwestern India. The team performs traditional and hip-hop fusion variations, holds on-campus workshops, and attends competitions around the nation.
Storm Coming is a work by alumni choreographer Denae Hannah. Supported by a Stanford Arts Institute grant -- Stanford,Dancing -- Denae has reconstructed this piece on current student dancers, connecting current student dancers to alumni artists.
