Opportunities
Don't
wait until your senior year to begin doing important research
on ethics at Stanford. There is a wide range of opportunities
at Stanford to engage in research that has ethical relevance.
One does not neccesarily have to conduct such research on campus.
In the past and at present, Ethics in Society students have
secured grants to work on research in Africa, India, and other
parts of the United States. Stanford has numerous programs to
help students fund such endeavors.
To
begin looking into this process, talk with affiliated professors
and staff within Ethics in Society. Seek out professors you
are comfortable working with and see if you can help assist
them in their research.
A
wonderful resource on campus is the VPUE (Vice Provost for Undergraduate
Education) office in located on the fourth floor of Sweet Hall.
There you will find many programs on campus aimed at helping
undergraduates begin and fund their own research endeavors.
Stop by the office or checkout http://urp.stanford.edu
on line. Make sure to inquire about URP (Undergraduate Research
Programs) grants.
Aside
from research, make sure to check out the Links
section of this website for important information about internships
and careers. Ethics in Society strives to encourage students
to take the step from moral analysis to moral commitment, by
pursuing internships and careers in public service.
