 Fires
& Health-threatening hazardous materials releases (including
all compressed-gas cylinder leaks or valve failures):
- Call 9-911. (School of
Medicine Buildings, dial 286.)
- Activate fire alarm.
- Close door to laboratory or room.
- Evacuate the area or building.
- Administer first aid. For chemical spill, remove
clothing & deluge victim with water for at least 15 minutes
or until emergency personnel arrive.
- Notify area manager.
Releases or incidents NOT immediately health-threatening:
- Call 5-9999
(24-hours a day)
