If you were this student's advisor, how would you advise her to proceed?

1. Tell the student that she may not conduct this study, as it would violate regulations governing the protection of human research subjects.
   
   
2. Advise the student to describe her project in a protocol application and submit it to the Nonmedical Human Subjects Panel.
   
   
3. Tell the student that her study requires the explicit, written permission of any individual whose behavior is observed.
