Educational Assessment

Option B.

This may or may not be considered a research project, and you should therefore contact the Nonmedical Human Subjects Panel for guidance.

It is always advisable to check with the staff in the Stanford Research Compliance Office if you have questions about human subjects research. The Coordinator for Stanford's Nonmedical Human Subjects Panel is Anastasia Eslinger, 723-2480, anastasia.eslinger@stanford.edu.

The advice in this case would be that the project is, indeed, research involving human subjects, and the project must therefore be reviewed by the panel. However, an educational assessment of this sort might qualify for an exempt review. The Panel Coordinator in the Research Compliance Office can advise if that is the case.
