  • Counsels students and provides problem-solving strategies or referrals to GSB students on academic, personal, extracurricular, and crisis issues
  • Advises Student Association officers and student club/organization leadership; coordinates MBA Pre-Enrollment programs, MBA Pre-Term, Student Life Seminars, and GSB Graduation; oversees and advises on annual student orientation activities, MBA Major Events, MBA Study Trips, and other student activities; manages and distributes MBA Monday Messages and student site information relevant to all MBA students
  • Provides expertise on GSB and University policy relevant to GSB students, investigates appropriate action for MBA student Honor Code and Fundamental Standard matters
  • Serves as liaison between GSB students and the Student Disability Resource Center.

Career Management Center

  • Offers one-on-one career advising, resume reviews, career strategy sessions, and career workshops
  • Connects students and recruiters through On-Campus Recruiting (OCR), the GSB Jobs Board (job postings), recruiter announcements, online resume books, videoconferencing, the CMC Contacts Database, and corporate outreach efforts
  • Coordinates career events with student clubs, including the Fall Career Conference, career and industry panels, career treks, and the Spring Career Fair
  • Manages the CMC section of the student site, which includes numerous resources, including job search resources, job listings, interview preparation tips, job search research links, lists and databases, company contacts, workshop handouts, networking resources, resources for international students and opportunities, and employment statistics.

  • Provides the Alumni Online Directory and offers students a Web-accessible alumni email account after graduation
  • Sponsors and facilitates dinners at alumni homes (Student/Alumni Dinner Series) organized by GSB student clubs
  • Manages the Alumni Mentor Program and offers opportunities to shadow alumni at work
  • Facilitates events during first-year summer internships with alumni and new admits through regional chapters.

     The Academic Services Office collaborates with students, faculty, and university and school staff in pursuing the School of Education's academic goals. This office provides services and resources on policies and procedures regarding academic programs, degree progress, financial aid and fellowships, student life programs, admissions and recruitment.

     Student services in the School of Engineering are managed by individual departments and programs - Aeronautics and Astronautics, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and the Institute for Computational and Mathematical Engineering (ICME). Each department has a Student Services Office with one or more staff administrators who oversee student services.

     At the school level, the Assistant Dean for Graduate Student Affairs is located in the Terman Engineering Center, Room 208. Any student should feel free to use this office for advice and counsel in conjunction with or in addition to their departmental office.

     The graduate studies staff in the Dean's Office supports the school's departments and programs in student admissions and appointment processes. Graduate students in Humanities and Sciences should first consult their department's graduate studies staff if they have questions about their degree program or financial aid. Within the Dean's Office in the School of Humanities and Sciences, the Office of Multicultural Graduate Student Services provides assistance and support to individual students and departments in the areas of minorty recruitment and admissions. This office also administers numerous dissertation awards and external fellowship programs. The staff is available to assist graduate students in resolving any appointment difficulties or unusual circumstances and/or problems.

     The Registrar at the Law School is responsible for course scheduling, registration, grades, unofficial transcripts, examinations, and petitions.

Office of Student Affairs, Law School

     The Office of Student Affairs is responsible for orientation, admit weekend, graduation, and administration of all student organizations. The Associate Dean for Student Affairs also provides both personal and academic counseling, advises student organizations, coordinates student activities, and serves as a liaison between faculty and students on a variety of matters.

     The Career Services Office provides career counseling and job placement services to Law School students and alumni. It organizes informational panels on various areas of law practice and hosts an extensive on-campus interviewing program.

     The Office of Education and Graduate Affairs houses the offices of M.D. and Graduate Programs Admissions, Student Financial Services, Registrar, Student Life, and Records and Processing. It provides administrative services to M.D. and graduate students, and serves as an advocate on their behalf.

     The medical school ombudsperson is a neutral, confidential resource for all members of the medical school community, including graduate students in the medical school. The ombudsperson will listen to your concerns, clarify procedures, and discuss options you may have. Issues graduate students might bring to the ombudsperson include difficulty with an advisor, concerns about any form of discrimination of favoritism, a conflict within a lab environment or any issue academic or administrative that is troubling a student. No issue is too small. Indeed, the sooner the concern is brought to the ombudsperson's office, the easier it may be to address it. The ombudsperson will not identify you or anything you say without your permission.
