Mail

    Departmental Mail Boxes

Most departments have mailboxes for their graduate students.

    Interdepartmental Mail

Mail concerning University business can be sent from one campus location to another by interdepartmental (I.D.) mail. Mail codes should be used whenever possible and can be found in the Stanford Directory.

Post office boxes at the Stanford Post Office can be rented for $48.00 per year. Students living in University residences which do not have mail delivery receive priority. Stanford post office boxes have zip code "94309"; all other Stanford campus addresses have zip code "94305."

Stamps, mailing supplies and information, passport applications, voter registration, selective service registration, and money orders are available at the United States Post Office on campus. Check the front of the Pacific Bell phone book for locations of other area post office branches.

    United Parcel Service (UPS)

United Parcel Service picks up and delivers packages directly to graduate student apartments. Packages must have a combined length and girth of no more than 130 inches and weigh no more than 70 pounds.

For a monthly fee, the University offers optional local and long-distance telephone service to students living in on-campus student housing. Additionally, any student wanting to make calls while on campus can apply for a Personal Access Code (PAC), allowing them to make long-distance calls from most Stanford phones. You can arrange for a PAC code at any time, and any in-room services after you move into your on-campus room/apartment.

Fax

Fax machines are available for student use at at The Pulse (the copy center in Tresidder Union, 723-3132). Costs are:
  Local: $1 for first page, $.50/additional page
  Long Distance: $2 for first page; $1/additional page
  International: $4 for first page: $2/additional page
