Please join us for the first event of 2013 in our two-year series, “Nodes, Networks, Names: Recovering, Understanding, Representing Them”.

Associate Professor Anna More (Spanish and Portuguese, UCLA) will be discussing her work on how Jesuit writings on Africa from the late sixteenth-century onward document the expansion of the trans-Atlantic slave trade and uniquely mirror the ideological necessities of the emergence of mercantile slavery in the period.
