CAREER DEVELOPMENT

Career Development Center
The Career Development Center (CDC) offers students and alumni many ways to network and search for opportunities (jobs, internships, etc.) that relate to East Asian Studies. They also provide career counselors who can assist in the process. The following are just a few of the programs that the CDC offers:

• The Stanford Career Network is a database maintained by the Stanford Alumni Association of more than 10,500 alumni all over the world who have volunteered to be contacted for informational interviews. Users can search by location, job type, degree, etc.


• Career Resource Database, maintained by the CDC, can be used to search for a variety of career materials that assist students with exploring careers and researching employers. Along with hardcopy resources, the Center has employer directories and databases. Materials are housed at the Career Development Center.


• The Shadow Program, is a large multicultural database of professionals working in a wide range of career fields who are willing to sponsor students to spend a day observing, or "shadowing" them as they work.

CEAS MA East Asia Summer Internships
For current CEAS MA students, summer internship opportunities based in Asia may be available.

Undergraduate Summer Asian Internships through Bing Overseas Studies Program
BOSP supports internship positions in the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Singapore and Thailand. The participating host institutions and specific internship job descriptions are available on BOSP’s website. Asia Internships are open to all undergraduate students at Stanford University. Each internship participant must commit to full-time work (a minimum of 35 hours per week) for ten (10) weeks.
