Here is a list of resources that can help you do research for your final project. You will need to visit the website then search for your topic once there. Good luck! 

General Resources for Article Research on Topics

Qontent runs a "smart library" that covers many topics of interest to students doing ALC projects, such as crime, poverty and families.
Public Agenda Online Public Agenda runs on-line surveys about current issues. Some of the interesting topics for ALC are crime, family, gay rights, immigration, poverty and welfare, and race.

 A  California non-profit organization that specializes in issues centered around population patterns and trends in the world and in the USA. One example, socio-economic trends.
Justice Logo This website is maintained by a UCSB professor. Affirmative Action and Diversity issues are looked at.
CML The Center for Media Literacy is a non-profit educational organization that covers issues of interest such as Advertising and Consumerism, Stereotyping and Representation (Gender), Stereotyping and Representation (Race and Ethnicity), and Violence in the Media.
The University of Michigan Documents Center, is an index site that links directly to articles, statistics and websites about many current issues.

Statistical Resources on the United States

census.gif (1244 bytes) The United states Census bureau hosts an extremely comprehensive site regarding national statistics. Click on "people, then "more" to find an index of topics.
gssdirs.gif (1454 bytes) The General Social Survey (GSS) compiles information regarding public opinions on social issues.
icpsrlogo.gif (1721 bytes) The Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) has a wealth of information compiled by many diverse organizations. Click on the Table of contents to see their holdings
fedstat.gif (17918 bytes) More than 70 agencies in the United States Federal Government produce statistics of interest to the public. The
Federal Interagency Council on Statistical Policy maintains this site for public use.
bealogix.gif (2819 bytes) The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) is an agency of the Department of Commerce. The mission of BEA is to produce and disseminate accurate, timely, relevant, and cost-effective economic accounts statistics.

Statistical Resources for the World

By increasing the global availability and use of official statistics, this work facilitates national and international policy formulation, implementation and monitoring.
