Summary
Entrepreneurship is a team sport. What are the critical human resource issues for new ventures? The Everest simulation makes the point as your team struggles to reach the summit together.
Next you fill out the Team Evaluation sheet and see how you can improve your own teams performance.
Required Preparation (Policy on Required Readings.)
You must be on time for this class. Your team will leave without you. Remember to bring your laptop, as you will not be able to participate without one.
- Everest Simulation:
- All students should already have their login names and passwords.
- Log in to the site and watch the instructional videos about the simulation and learn about your role on the team.
- Team Process Evaluation:
- Fill out the Team Process Evaluation Sheets. Circle the three lowest scores on your Group Process Evaluation Sheet. Jot down what you think are the root cause or causes. Categorize each of them as either systemic or individual.
- If you have identified a systemic problem, write down one suggestion that would improve the systemic functioning of your team.
- For each of your teammates, list one characteristic or action that is helpfulto the group. List one that is not helpful.
- Write down one thing that you would do differently or better to improve the functionality of your group.
