Viewed from the Oval, History Corner is on the front left of the Main Quad.

The Main Quad's walkway is accessible by a set of ramps in the center of the Quad as you face it from the Oval. There are also ramps on either side of the Memorial Church's main steps.

Once in Lane Hall, you can use the elevator on the left side of the corridor - or you can walk down the one long flight of stairs.

The classroom is located one floor down from the entry level. Turn left as you exit the elevator. Make a left at the telephone and drinking fountain and follow the corridor around Room 030 to Room 034 where the class will meet.

The classroom can accommodate wheelchair users in the aisles and at the front of the room.

Driving Directions to the Main Quad

From Highway 101 (North and South) - Take the Embarcadero Road exit west toward Stanford. Embarcadero turns into Galvez Road. Continue until Campus Drive. Turn right on Campus Drive East and continue around to the backside of the university. Turn left onto Palm Drive; Palm Drive dead-ends at "the Oval." Park as near the Oval as possible. The Main Quad is the building directly across the street (Serra Mall) from the top of the Oval.

From Highway 280 (North and South) - Exit Sand Hill Road west towards Stanford. Continue downhill and turn right on Santa Cruz Avenue. Make an immediate left onto Junipero Serra Boulevard. Turn left at the second stoplight, Campus Drive East. Continue on Campus Drive East and turn left onto Mayfield Avenue. Turn left, continuing on Mayfield Avenue, and then turn right into the Tresidder Union parking lot (parking is free after 4:00 p.m.). Continue on foot past Tresidder Union on the left and the Stanford Bookstore on the right, down Lasuen Mall (past the Clock Tower). The Main Quad is on the left.

From El Camino Real (North and South) - Exit El Camino Real at University Avenue. Take University Avenue West (Palm Drive), away from Palo Alto. University becomes Palm Drive. Proceed down Palm Drive past Campus Drive and onto the Oval. Park as near the Oval as possible. The Main Quad is the building directly across the street (Serra Mall) from the top of the Oval.

Parking Suggestions

The closest parking is on the Oval. However, Oval parking can be congested in the evenings. You may also park further back on Palm Drive, along Roth Way or Museum Way, both of which intersect Palm Drive. No parking permits are required after 4pm.
