Overall, I greatly enjoyed the guest lectures and the willingness for both Dave and Kat to just meet with the students. While I did not do the project, it has been awesome to hear the students' projects.

Really enjoyed the course and all of the guest lecturers! I think I've come away with a much better understanding of assistive technology.

I really liked the class! It really opened my eyes to a world that a lot of the time people designing products for others don't think about, but should! Thank you. I will always remember these lessons.

REALLY well done. Dave, I really prefer these SHORTER surveys since the others were way too long and made it hard to really listen to the presenters with that many questions to answer. This is a very magical addition to the Stanford experience and I personally thank you for doing it Dave.

Project experience was really awesome. Wish we had a bit more time to talk about them since a lot of energy went into it. (I used solely hand tools working with the walnut haha.)

Love the lectures, but I wish we didn't use videos more often than not. I understand schedule limitations, but videos in zoom calls are generally very disengaging.

Assistive Technology Faire was amazing!

I had a wonderful time taking this course. I loved the guest lecturers and appreciate the opportunity to design a device that could help someone.

I really enjoyed this class! I think there were some minor hiccups with Zoom towards the beginning, but the class really came through with the guest speakers, cool projects, and general information on designing for accessibility. Thank you both so much!

Everything was so well done in general. I really liked hearing from the guests.

The course was really interesting and I loved learning about the content.

I really loved this course and working with someone personally to design an assistive device!

This course was a thorough endeavor into assistive technology and all the different avenues it can take. Each guest speaker introduced me to a different situation or problem I was not aware of before. While I did not have a project, it was very stimulating to see each person's research report or their take on solving an issue. I was impressed by what my peers came up with. Thank you Dave and Kat for a great experience.

I have really enjoyed this course! The speakers were wonderful, commentary during the presentations and Dave's presentations were always great, and seeing everyone's projects transform from mid-quarter to now was very cool to see.

I learned a lot about working with members of the disability community, as well as being able to engage in a project that directly addresses human­centered design and accessibility.

Guest lectures are super powerful and thought provoking!

Take this course for 2 - 3 units if you can - the ability to work with a community member on a quarter­long project is the most rewarding part of the class.

Take it ­ the teaching is wonderful and the guest lecturers are even more so.

This was one of the best courses I've taken at Stanford. The guest lecturers are great. I have become a better designer and person because of this course.

Dave is super sweet and really cares about the material and each of his students.

Recommended for those passionate about engineering and designing assistive technology, as well as those interested in learning about how we think about disability! wonderful opportunity to learn from and connect with a wide variety of innovators and researchers who have made diverse solutions in assistive technology, as well as being able to engage with community members and those with disabilities directly. you can still get a lot out of the course even if you just take it for one unit (no project). Dave's passion for the course is inspiring.

The guest speakers are really interesting, and this class is an awesome way to learn from a lot of people and make some great connections. However, the online format caused some bumps, but in general, I would recommend.

Great class, very eye-opening and professor is great, my only regret is that I couldn't have taken it in person.

Definitely take it if you have some fabrication skills and want to do something good in this space!

While I think you'll get the most out of it if you work on a project, I felt that I learned a lot by just attending the lectures. The teaching team introduced us to several inspiring figures using or working on assistive technology, and there are opportunities to connect with them beyond the course if you make the effort.

This class is super rewarding. The projects are great, the people are awesome, and the experience is fantastic. Once you build something that improves someone's life, you see the positive impact of all the design training you have done.
