Abstract
This introductory lecture gives an overview of the course and its subject.
We introduce basic fault diagnostics approaches used in practice.
These approaches and their applications will be exposed in greater detail in the
guest lectures. We review the concepts of
- Control Chart (Shewhart Chart)
- Multivariate SPC (Statistical Process Control)
- Least squares and model-based estimation
- Integrated system diagnostics and cascaded design
