pCell: Personal Cell Technology
Ubiquitous Wireless Broadband

Steve Perlman
Artemis Networks
About the talk:

Artemis pCell technology is a new approach to wireless that delivers a fiber-class mobile experience to all LTE users, regardless of how densely packed they are, by synthesizing a tiny personal cell for each user. Even in a packed stadium, each user concurrently gets the full capacity of the spectrum. With existing cellular systems, cell towers transmit signals that form large, shared cells that carefully avoid interfering with each other. pCell turns the problem inside out: Small "pWave" radios transmit signals that deliberately interfere with each other, combining to synthesize tiny pCells, each just 1 cm in size. As a result, pCell not only eliminates wireless congestion, it dramatically increases the capacity and reliability of wireless, creating ubiquitous broadband connectivity for standard LTE devices using existing LTE spectrum.
