Peer-to-peer live streaming solutions have traditionally had trouble overcoming failovers quickly enough to achieve truly low latency. In this talk, we will describe the architecture of the BitTorrent Live protocol, which combines the best features of screamer and tree-based protocols to achieve end-to-end delays on the order of 5 seconds, with low overhead and rapidly adjusting congestion control.
