How we've scaled Dropbox

Kevin Modzelewski
Dropbox
About the talk:

You may have a sense of what large-scale systems look like, but how do you get there from having two engineers and zero lines of code? In this talk, I'll go over the evolution of the Dropbox backend, explaining how we went from having nothing to supporting 50 million users who update hundreds of millions of files a day, with the plan of going farther. I will focus on specific technical examples that show both what kinds of decisions needed to be made, and when and why we had to make them.
