About the talk:
The Internet has evolved from an interesting technology to a communications medium that is changing the way we work, live, play and learn. However to realize its real potential requires true ubiquity, not just in the workplace but to the consumer. This talk with outline many of the technology drivers and challanges behind achieving Internet ubiquity.

About the speaker:

Judy Estrin is Chief Technology Officer at Cisco Systems, Inc. Prior to joining Cisco, Judy was the co-founder of three sucessful start-up companies: Bridge Communications, one of the first internetworking companies, in 1981; NCD, the leading supplier of X terminals, in 1988; and Precept Software, developer of video streaming software, in 1995. Judy holds a BS in Math-Computer Science from UCLA as well as a MSEE from Stanford. In addition to her role at Cisco, Judy serves on the board of directors of FDX Corporation, The Walt Disney Company and Sun Microsystems.
