All numbered exercises are from the textbook.

You will sometimes need to download Matlab files.

  • Homework 1, due Thursday 07/09/2009:
    2.1, 2.2, 2.5, 2.7, 2.12(b,d,g), 2.15(a,c,f,g), 2.36. (For 2.36, you can skip the dual cone part.)

  • Homework 2, due Thursday 07/16/2009:
    3.2, 3.15, 3.16(a–c), 3.22(a–c), 3.24(a–e), 3.32.
    (For 3.2, 3.16 and 3.24, you can skip the parts on verifying whether the functions are quasiconvex/quasiconcave.)

  • Homework 3, due Thursday 07/23/09:
    4.1, 4.8(a–d), 4.11(a–c), 4.15, 4.17, and some additional exercises.

  • Homework 4, due Thursday 07/30/09:
    4.30, 4.40(a,c), 5.5, 5.13, and some additional exercises.

  • Homework 5, due Thursday 08/06/09:
    5.1, 6.2, and some additional exercises.

  • Homework 6, due Friday 08/14/09.
