Announcements
June 4, 2013: If you plan to graduate this quarter, you need to take the final exam at the scheduled time (8:30am June 12), so we have enough time to grade by the June 13 grade deadline.
May 13, 2013: The sixth homework has been posted on the assignments page. The due date is Wednesday, May 22, in class. The preferred way is to submit a hard copy in class.
May 13, 2013: Professor Garcia-Molina decided to give credit to everyone who said "yes" or "no" on Question 5(f) of midterm. If your graded exam was marked "-2" on this part, please bring your exam to Wednesday's class (i.e., May 15) and show it to Professor Garcia-Molina after class. Note that, if "-2" was crossed out and "OK" was written, then it is not necessary to show your exam to him. That means he has already given you these 2 points.
April 29, 2013: As requested by students, homework 5 was posted on Gradiance, because it has a few questions on 2PC and 3PC. You can use these questions to study for midterm. It is important to note that this assignment may cover extra materials (i.e., some questions are beyond the scope of midterm), and the due date is subject to change.
April 17, 2013: The third homework is up on gradiance. The due date is Wednesday, April 24, 11:59pm.
April 10, 2013: The second homework is up on gradiance. The due date is Wednesday, April 17, 11:59pm. Please make sure you have set up your Gradiance accounts for this and subsequent homeworks. The information is available at this link
April 1, 2013: Dear CS347 Students:
I forgot to mention today that I will be out of town
Monday April 8. That lecture will be recorded in advance
on Thursday April 4 at 2:15pm in Gates B01.
I know many of you will be unable to make it on Thursday,
but I would appreciate if some of you can make it,
so I do not have to lecture to an empty room.
If you cannot make it to the Thursday live showing,
you can watch the tape at your convenience.
- Hector
