CS344A: Sensor Network Systems


Discovery
Due: 4/18

In this assigment, you'll get up to speed using TinyOS and Telos motes by writing a simple low-power neighbor discovery protocol. You can either come up with your own algorithm or use one from the literature.


Project Proposal
Due: 5/2

A 2-3 page description of your proposed final project. It should include a clear statement of what problem you are tackling, how, and how it stands with respect to prior work. Projects should be in groups of 2 or 3 people.


Transport
Due: 5/4

In this assigment, you'll gain experience with the issues and complexities of low-power wireless by writing a reliable transport protocol. There will be a competition on whose protocol provides the best power/speed tradeoff.


Project Presentation
Due: 5/16

Your final project group will give a presentation in class, describing your goals and work so far. Class feedback is encouraged. Presentations should be 4 slides:

  1. Title slide with group member names
  2. Problem statement
  3. Proposed approach
  4. Proposed evaluation

Poster
Due: Finals week

Your final project group will present a poster at a small poster session, describing the results of its work.
