Theoretical Topics
Psychophysical issues, performance and design of haptic interfaces, haptic rendering methods for 3-D virtual environments, and haptic simulation and rendering of rigid and deformable solids.

Applied Topics
Introduction to the CHAI 3D haptic library, implementation of haptic rendering algorithms, collision detection in 3-D environments, design of real-time models for deformable objects.

Prerequisites
Experience and familiarity with C++. Some experience with computer graphics and/or robotics may be helpful, but is not required.
