Many of the data homework assignments this quarter require access to different corpora with different licenses. We at Stanford have access to them, but you need to individually request access and agree not to distribute the material.

Go here and read the instructions:
http://www.stanford.edu/dept/linguistics/corpora/access.html

It will instruct you to contact the "corpus TA" indicating you won't sell the data on ebay. Our corpus TA can be found here:
http://www.stanford.edu/dept/linguistics/corpora/corpusta.html

After she adds you to the list:

  1. Login as normal to your favorite machine.
  2. Type klog
  3. Enter your regular password.
  4. You are now authenticated with the server and should have access to the data at: /afs/ir/data/linguistic-data

Problems with authenticating should be directed to the corpus TA, all other questions, feel free to ask me (Nate)!
