Software

We will be using a special version of the Eclipse development environment, written specifially for use in this class. There are PC and Macintosh versions of the software. Installation instructions are available in Handout #4: Downloading Eclipse. Additionally, you may need the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) installed on your computer. Links to the software are below:

Windows Users

Mac Users

  • Stanford Eclipse for Macintosh OS X (Option-click this link!)
  • Your Mac should come with Java. However, run the "Software Update" utility (in the Apple menu) to make sure you have the most recent version.

Linux Users [limited support]

Be warned: as Linux is not a mainstream OS, we can only provide limited support for Linux installations of Eclipse.

A huge thank you to section leader superstars Jason Auerbach and Yarone Greif for all their work on Stanford Eclipse 3.2.
